Friday Favorites – June 29

Happy Friday, everybody! I’m super DUPER excited to be hanging out with my friend Kristi Butler (@kristimbutler) this weekend!

Her post was one of my favorites this week,

Things I’ve Learned So Far

It was a great exercise from a recent meeting of her writer’s group. Be sure to read her list and leave a comment!

My next favorite isn’t a particular post, but just a site that I look forward to visiting. She’s been posting every day lately and her posts do NOT disappoint.

Life Images, by Diane Bailey

Neither does her book, String of Pearls, From Tears to Treasures. Diane quoted from her book several days in a row, and I loved her insights:

Trust is faith activated across time.

Di is honest and REAL. I got my copy yesterday, and I’m sure I’ll be tweeting her soon. (@dewbailey)

Shout-out this week to Christy and the gals at CrossMoms.com. They’re doing a great job there and have started a monthly link-up,

Show and Tell Link Up.

If you’re new to link-ups, no worries. It’s brand new and a great place to learn. AND a great place to meet new friends. It’s open for a month, so hop over and check it out! (@crossmoms)

My recipe of the week comes from my BFF Sandi Nieto (@clayzmama). She’s DEFINITELY somebody you should follow for fresh, funny and inspiring posts. (She’s closing in on 1 million blog hits, so you KNOW she’s good!) AND she’s one of the sweetest people EVER. And hilarious. And a heckuva traveling companion.

Overnight Oats

She made this for me the last time I visited her and I was HOOKED. This dish is creamy, fruity, nutty yumminess!

  1. Susan! Thank you so much! We’ve turned the Show and Tell link up into a MONTHLY event, and I just posted the introduction to it this morning! God’s timing is so good! It is new, and we greatly appreciate your help spreading the word!
    Love and God Bless,
    Christy

  2. I always enjoy your Friday Favorites. :) I’m giving Kristi’s exercise a try over the weekend. I searched for the oatmeal recipe on Sandi’s site but didn’t spot it. I’d love to try it if you have the recipe handy! Have a great weekend, Susan.

  3. Susan, You are such a precious friend. You have brought tears to my eyes this morning by honoring me on you blog. I think we are going to have to both leave our houses one morning and drive until we meet up with each other!! I’m crazy about you! ~Di

    • I love long hours in the car alone, so I’m game! Maybe I can plan a Charlotte trip when you’re at She Speaks next month. My daughter and I go there to shop, and we’ll need a getaway soon. Keep that in the back of your mind and maybe we could meet for dinner!!
Sending Hokie hugs to ‘Bama :)

  4. Girl, you are entirely too sweet!! And I can’t wait to see you TODAY!!! I’m indeed humbled to be included in your favorites. YOU are at the top of my list! And the last item on things I’ve learned was totally including you!
    Love you dearly!

    • It won’t be long now! Get ready for your first ever GREEN SMOOTHIE :) LOL
I’ll call you when I hit the road. Love you!!

  5. Great links again this week! I love reaping the benefits of all your Internet wisdom. I’ll have to try Kristi’s exercise. Whew. 8 minutes isn’t long. Must be succinct! And overnight oats will be hit for 4 little people I know…

    • Kristi’s exercise is fun! You’ll be great, what with all your word-nerdiness ;)
I LOVE my oats and it’s so great to have something ready and waiting! And COLD. Holy schmoley, can you believe the heat we’re having? It’s like we’ve been teleported to Arizona. Stay cool 8-)

  6. I love your Friday posts!

  7. Anita Taylor says:
