Heavenly Father, It can be so hard to admit when we’re wrong.
We make excuses or blame others or justify our actions.
We think it’s a sign of weakness or incompetence, and don’t want to
swallow our pride and admit that we don’t know everything.
But we don’t.
You, and You alone, are all-wise and all-knowing.
And, thankfully, all-compassionate and all-merciful.
Reveal our sin so we can confess it and abandon it,
and show us the changes we need to make so we can live
a life that pleases You in every way.
We ask it in Christ Jesus’ name,
Amen.
How can I pray for you this week?
Please join me on Wednesday as I continue my Legacy series with a devotion on
“Admitting You’re Wrong”

Susan,
Thank you for your prayers. It is so true…we don’t know everything. We need God’s wisdom on a daily basis to live the life that pleases Him. Please pray for wisdom as I make some changes in my blogging schedule…and specifically as I start co-blogging with Jamie Britt starting in September.
Thanks so much. You are such a blessing!
Thanks, Glenda! I’m excited about your new venture with Jamie, and will definitely pray about organizing your schedule.
This is my prayer too, Susan. Lord, reveal my sin, especially those I try to justify. Thank you for beginning the week off with confession.
I would appreciate your prayers for an upcoming community Bible class I’m leading. Over the past four years, we’ve averaged about 25. This season, we’ve had nearly 40 sign up! It’s a blessing for sure but the venue we’ve used will not hold this many people. We’re three weeks away and still searching for a new place. I know God will provide but I also know He works through the prayers of His people. Thank you!!!
Wow, Cathy – that’s great! You’re right – He’s already got the perfect place picked out. I’ll pray that He lets you in on that SOON
Oh my friend, I so love how God has joined our hearts and minds! I know that you are so organized and often have your posts planned well in advance. I’m a “fly by the seat of my pants” girl, and work weekly to keep up. Last week I felt that same call to confession and cleansing as I posted. Thanks for reminding me to search the depths and get cleansed from all unrighteousness!
Girl, I just looked out the window and the “glory” is all around me. Oh, God is good!
Love your photo above. You took it, didn’t you? Stunning! The earth is filled with His glory…in all forms!
My prayer request is for our house deal to go through (if that’s in God’s will), so that we can get settled as we start this joyous season of keeping our sweet Brooklyn!
Oh how I love you!!
You make my day
Wish you lived in MY mountains so we could have coffee together whenever we want!!
I’ll keep praying for the house situation. I’m glad that you walk in such trust and aren’t worried about the details. (In this situation, you are definitely a MARY! I have to confess I’d be a Martha
)
I’m glad He let you wake up in His “glory” this morning. And yep, that photo is mine. You know my obsession with light in the sky!
I want to share that my vertigo finally lifted last week and I am driving again! Thank you for the prayers.
I need God’s strength and direction in the areas I’m serving at church, and in meeting with our teacher to discuss our adult class.
Thanks for your prayers.
YAY! I’m so glad the vertigo is gone, Jeanette! I can’t imagine the frustration. I’ll continue to lift you up, specifically about the class direction.
That God will show me if I need to continue looking for work or if I will be a stay at home mom
You got it, Brenda. Still praying for Doug, and hope Sami is adjusting to life up north! Hugs to you
“…Reveal our sin so we can confess it and abandon it…” It’s such a painful process, but we are so much better and healthier when the pruning process accomplishes its mission. Thanks for the beautiful – and convicting – prayer this morning, Susan!
Jeannette
Thanks, Jeannette! So fun to see us on the same page today!

Hi Susan,
It is indeed very difficult to admit you are wrong… about anything! But I have learned that once you do, it is so liberating.
In our present age, it is not easy to cultivate humility because of all the nonsense with which we’re bombarded on a daily basis, but I think it takes a lot of humility to be able to admit being wrong about something. And I’ve learned that uttering that admission really affects the other person, taking them completely off-guard and most often causing them to reassess their thinking!
Praying a happy & blessed Monday for you as your writing blesses all of us!
~Anna
Anna, you’re so right about apologies catching people off-guard! When you admit you’re wrong and say you’re sorry, it stops the conversation/argument/berating in its tracks!
Thanks for stopping by today. Praying for you as you settle into a good schedule
Sus,
As an ex-Catholic I do remember confessing to a Priest. I went to a boarding school in the Phils , ran by Dominican Sisters for 4 yrs (enough indoctrination ) But we carry a Prayer book ( some call it a Prayer Missal) I didn’t really know much about the Bible. But 33 yrs ago I was born again, my husband was the catalyst for leading me to Christ. What a freedom for me from those things I did which I never undertood why I did what I did. Now I can directly go to that person I offended to ask for forgiveness and I do know God will handle the rest. Sometimes it is not easy to eat a humble pie. This morning I am going to my ENT to check on the polyp in my vocal chord. Hopefully it is gone & does need to be removed. Thanks for your prayers.
That sweet Mark is The BEST
Praying for your appt with the ENT and I hope you don’t need surgery, Anita. Please keep me posted!
Pride often inhibits us from confession – or at least it has in my life and then I start to justify etc. Oh Lord, make me humble.
Bless you, Hester
So true, Hester: justify, explain, blame… on and on it goes. Praying for you and the boys to enjoy the last few days before school starts!
Susan, how are your eyes even open?!? Been praying for you. Trust your kids are all settled now.
This week, praying I’m able to just get out of the way and let Him work. In, around, and through me. . .
Let me know how I can pray for you, too!
Thanks, Nikki! For me, the prayer is always for FOCUS
Scott finished his summer session so now I have both of them home for 2 weeks. So excited for things to slow down a bit before they leave. Thank you for asking and praying for us!
Seems that I spend my day confessing!!! I hate ‘messin’ up….but am so glad that our God is a God of mercy and He forgives us. Now….working on forgiving myself!! :/
I hear ya. I’m my own worst critic, and I have a very good (and long) memory. So thankful He doesn’t!
Susan, I want to give you a update on last week’s prayer requests. Justin and business partner were told by the producer of “Finding Faith” the Movie there is enough money for them to do one edit! Pray for more money to be raised for all of the post production work to be done.
Kristen had a job interview today for work she thinks she would enjoy and might be able to advance in. Pray if it is God’s will she will get this job. God knows all the possibilities for Kristen and His wisdom knows what job is best for Kristen. May we trust him.
Bob had a heating system and cooling system man over last week to look over our house. Bob is waiting for him to send an estimate by email. Pray Bob hears in the near future.
I will see Nathan this weekend….I hope to hear about the activities he did during the week.
I am still working on making medical appointments ….need wisdom for whom to see and wisdom for the different doctors as they evaluate my back issues. Thank you for prayer for the Rossbachers and please continue to pray for us. Love, Judy
Thanks for the updates, Judy. I’ll continue to pray for all the Rossbachers
