It’s a new week for us, Lord!
We want to walk in obedience and bear fruit and
do all the things that please you.
Yes, we WANT to do all those things, but we’re sure to fail.
We’ll entertain critical thoughts and say careless words.
We’ll get aggravated for no good reason,
and we might do some of that before we even walk outside the door!
We confess those things to you right now, and ask You to
fill with a sense of Your presence and with Your strength.
Please give us patience and every grace we’ll need to make it through this day.
May we be mindful of Your presence within us this day and every day.
In Christ Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
Join me Wednesday as I continue the series,
Leaving a Godly Legacy,
with thoughts on Knowing Your Weaknesses.

Susan,
This is such a wonderful prayer. Just what I needed. Thanks so much!
Glad it spoke to you, Alycia. I’m having one of those weeks!
Hmm….obedience, patience, grace……….need them all today. Thanks for the reminder!!
Yes ma’am, I need all that, PLUS some
I’m looking forward to this series! You always write a wonderful study. Thank you for sharing them!
Thanks, Di — Two more weeks of Leaving a Godly Legacy, then it’s off to something else!
Susan, a beautiful prayer today. Thank you! We need to remember we don’t need to DO EVERYTHING…only what God has called us to do. There’s a fine line. I find when I try to do everything, I become more exhausted and grumpy and choose the trivial over what matters (we are on the same page today with our writing again!). Love ya dearly, and appreciate your faithfulness every week.
Blessings from Idaho ~
Jeannette
Thanks, Jeannette. With so much to do, this is a much-needed prayer for me this week! And I appreciate your stopping by each week. You’re a great encourager and I’m grateful!
Love & Hugs from VA
Thank-you, Susan, for the beautiful prayer this morning! As I’m going through my 40-Day Journey: Out of The Wilderness and I’m learning more about what it means to be “Poor in spirit,” there is nothing I can bring… no power, possession, or merit as I muddle through this life (as you’ve said I’m going to fail… and I will). I am completely dependent upon the Lord to meet my every need…I can do nothing on my own. You ask how you can pray for me this week?! I could use prayer to help me find the Promise Land God has for me… my sacred ground of which satan is standing guard. I need help to lay my fear and complacency at the feet of Jesus, to armor myself with the Shield of Faith and Sword of The Spirit, and to believe He has a land of blessing waiting with my name on it!
I’m breathing prayers for you as well, friend! Have a wonderful week
Marisa
Thanks for stopping by today, Marisa. I will definitely pray for you during your 40-day journey. I’m excited to see what He has planned for you. He’ll open extraordinary doors for us if we’ll press on and believe!
Thanks for the prayers for me. This is the last week I’ll have both my college kids home. Classes start next Monday!
Susan, What a beautiful prayer. Perfect for me as I start my first week with all the kids in school. My to do list is LONG, and I can’t wait to start diving into projects. I need this reminder to rely on God. I also can really relate to Jeannette’s comments (in fact, I frequently do!). Thanks so much, and have a great week!
I’m praying for you this week, Julia. I still remember how busy those first weeks can be. It seems like all I did was fill out papers and sign forms! May He give you the strength to do what you need to do, and the wisdom to know what to let slide!
Ohh, and great picture. Is that a little “iphonography?”
Yes ma’am, it is
Thank you for starting this new week off in such a beautiful way, Susan.
So glad you stopped by, Cathy
Your prayer today reminds me of Phil. 2:13 – it’s God working in us to give us the desire and ability to do what pleases Him. What a blessing that we can come to Him with these desires and watch His faithfulness working in our lives.
Thanks for starting our weeks with such beautiful prayers!
I love that application, Jodi. I confess that I also come to Him with the desire NOT to do certain things that I know are important. But He is always faithful to strengthen me and help me press on.
So glad you stopped by today!
Absolutely one of my favorite scriptures, Susan. Oh, how I NEED His strength!
Me too, Julie! Praying for you this week
Hey! First of all, know that God has kept you on my heart this week. Therefore, you’ve been getting extra prayers!! I loved your prayer…except the part about patience. Do I really have to pray for that???? JK Ours is sure being tested. Lots of love and big hugs!!
Thank you, my sweet Kristi Groundhog!! I’ve needed them this week
I keep you in my prayers and KNOW things are moving according to His schedule.
Love you!!
