Good morning, Lord!
We start another week with a to-do list a mile long.
Of course, You already know what’s ahead of us,
including the struggles we’ll face.
We confess that sometimes we’re intimidated by challenges.
We often look at ourselves and feel insignificant.
Other times we look at others who seem to “have it all together”
and we feel intimidated.
Help us to remember that the path we walk
has been divinely designed BY YOU,
to be walked WITH YOU.
May we walk it with confidence and trust
because of who we are in Christ Jesus.
We ask it in His Name,
Amen
Can I pray for you this week?
All commenters & requests go in my Monday prayer journal.
Please join me on Wednesday as I continue my Legacy series with the devo:
“Overcoming Insecurity”

Beautiful, Susan. I would appreciate your prayers as I make a decision this week. Thank you!
You got it, Cathy. Hope things went well last week and they got clear margins!
Your prayer is exactly what I felt this morning, Susan! With the Gideon conference starting this Saturday for 5 days and the Christian Communicators starting within days of returning from the Gideon, the To-Do list is a mile long! But at the same time, God is opening opportunities to help two different people in their extremely difficult times of need.
It cannot happen on paper and looking at the clock. It just can’t. But I know God doesn’t look at my paper or my clock. Please pray that I’ll be faithful in whatever He has for me to do, and that He’ll supernaturally cause the necessities to be done.
Thank you! Just prayed for you and your week!
Thanks for the prayers, Vonda! I’m asking the Lord to give you restful nights, and to multiply your time so that your days are abundant and productive! Can’t wait to hear about Gideon and CCC — Press on
Oh how I love everything about this…thanks for drawing me to Him this morning, Susan! What a blessing…
God and I have been spending a lot of time together lately as He has been working on me. I am having a hard time letting go of something He’s asked me to. It seems like such a silly thing and yet I cling. I lay it down and pick it back up again. Could you pray I lay it all down and never look back until the day comes where He wants to show me how far I’ve come? Thank you so much…
And Susan, you made my prayer journal today, too. Please let me know if there is anything specific you would like me to add!
I will definitely pray about that with you, Nikki. There’s a quirky little thing He’s working on me about too!
Specifically for me this week – I’m working with my daughter today on a chest of drawers we bought at IKEA last week. We’re assembling it today and moving it to her new home at JMU tomorrow, plus moving the rest of her things. (No A/C in the old house she’s moving to!) So LOTS of running as I help my college kids get settled in new places and start a new year! Thank you so much, Nikki!!
Amen! Thank you for starting the week off with such a needed focus.
Thanks, Jodi. Lifting up you and your boys. Hope you’re having a great summer!
Thank you for this verse Susan,
I needed to be reminded of this today.
Love, Hester
Praying for you, sweet Hester. Football season is upon us, and I’m sure your house is a flurry of pads and dirty uniforms!
We had lunch with Med & Gail yesterday after visiting Kineo church, we talked about prayers. One thing Med said that stuck on me is that when they get up in the morning they both pray together for their day. Mark gets up earlier than me most times & by then he is done with his quiet time. Altho we pray together before meals, Mark & I are going to develop a good habit and this is what we hope to do “Pray together” in the morning before we even get going for our day. So you can pray for this new habit of ours, instead of praying individually. You are always in my prayers, I am praying that your 50th birthday is a tonful of fun. It did enter my mind few months back to come to Roanoke on your birthday, but this upcoming trip to Canada was planned a year ago to fish for Salmons.
I will definitely pray for you and Mark as you start this new habit. I can identify with Mark – I’m the early bird in my house, too
Goodness, I would LOVE for you to come to Roanoke someday! We’ll have to plan it. I hope you enjoy your trip to Canada. Can’t wait to see what you catch!! Love you, Anita. Thanks for stopping by today!
Thank you for the wonderful reminder that our God is always faithful!
Thanks for stopping by today, Jean!
I could say that I am only discovering your blog today because of a tweet that Nikki (@SimplyStriving) posted but I suspect this is divine timing.
This weekend I sensed God challenging and redirecting me. I am trying to maintain balance and re-prioritizing but I need direction and clarity. Yes, He is faithful and yes, you have encouraged me. I will continue to wait on Him to show me what to pick up and put down (that to do list is far too long) and to allow Him to mold me into the person He predestined me to be so that I might do ONLY the things He has called me to do. I covet your prayers and will add you to my prayers. Thank you for this encouraging post.
Hi Diana,
I love divine timing! I’m lifting you up now and throughout the week. It seems the Lord is always challenging and shaping us, a little here and a little there. There are days the I ask Him to give me just ONE thing to work on for the day, because my tendency is to attempt a complete overhaul. That just leads me to feeling overwhelmed and discouraged.
I’ll pray the same for you – ONE thing, and it might be the same “one thing” all week. And the next week, and maybe the next. But whatever it is, I know He’ll give you peace and confidence about it.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I look forward to checking out your blog!
Hugs from VA
My aunt and uncle left the ranch this morning. Of course, I cried….Please pray for their safety as they drive back to Texas. He is a retired pastor … yet still preaching! It was wonderful spending the week with them. Now I have to wait for Jimmy….coming on Thursday! Thanks Susan!!!
I heart you!!
I heart you too, Sandi! How fun to get to spend that time with your aunt and uncle, but I’m sure it’s deathly quiet now that everyone is gone. Wish I was there with you!! Of course we’d have Sarah, which would lead all sorts of fun! And food
Enjoy your week of solitude. I’m praying for you!!
Yes, the mile long “To Do” list. Thank you for this reminder that God knows so much more than we do, and that we only need to depend on him. Have a great week!
Thanks, Julia! Enjoy these last couple of weeks before school starts. Then you can take a breath and relax back into a schedule (of sorts). I’m praying for you!
Susan, I just lost what I had typed …. Bottom line ….pray for Kristen (good job and husband according to Gods will.)
Justin, pray that the producer of Finding Faith will raise more money for the post production of the movie so that the movie will be more quality. If God’s will, Justin and his business partner can be part of the Post production.
Pray Bob wIll have wisdom working on a plan for a much needed heating system for our house and hopefully we have the right amount of money saved.
For me, scheduling appointments with a new medical person. I will explain later.
For Nathan, that he will choose lots of good activities to do at the Virgina Home this week. Thank you for praying for me and my family, Susan. Love you bunches!
I’ll pray for all the Rossbachers this week, Judy — Hugs to you!!
Susan, I know it’s late in the day and you may not see this post right away…but I do have a special request for prayer. My daughter and her family have been caring for a little girl, theyVe had about a year. She has stolen our hearts and I count her as my granddaughter. It appears we may have to be letting her go back to her father sometime in the near future. Please pray that God will pour His grace on our family as we adjust to this possibility. Just thinking about it brings tears. Thank you so much for your prayers.
I will absolutely pray, Glenda. What a blessing to have her in your life!
You are a blessing!
