Friday Favorites – August 10

Happy Friday, everybody! Today is a short post. Both my kids are moving to new places in their college towns, which are 3 hours apart. I’ve logged MANY hours on I-81 driving back and forth to Blacksburg and Harrisonburg. (Here in Virginia, we love our “burgs” and have several.)

Today I’m heading south to VT!

As the summer winds down, let me share a couple of quick recipes:

My bloggy buddy Joy McMillan is not only a fabulous cook, but also a professional photographer. Which, as Martha Stewart says, is a very good thing.

I could make a meal out of bruschetta, and what with tomatoes being in season and all, we should have it every single day.

I’m not fanatical about my diet, but I do want to stay healthy. I’m concerned about all the chemicals, additives and preservatives we’re ingesting so I’m trying to eat more locally grown foods and not buying overly processed foods.

    I love bruschetta! The pepper eggs look good to.
    I see from the above comments this is your birthday weekend and you’re traveling to be with your college kids. Have a wonderful birthday weekend.

    We lived in Luray, VA for six years. Loved living there…Have been on route 81 many many times.
