A Monday Pause ~ Jerusalem

Good morning, Lord. As we wake up today, we lift up Your holy city.
We know Jerusalem is the apple of Your eye (Zech 2:8) and
is special in so many ways.

The constant unrest that surrounds her is nothing new, and yet
You command us to pray for her peace.
And so we do.
Lord, we know You watch over her constantly and so
we ask that You grant peace to

the city, the people and the nation of Israel and that
You awaken them with the knowledge that their
true
Shalom is found in the Prince of Peace,
Immanu ‘El.
We ask it in His name, Amen

It’s an honor to lift up my commenters.
How can I pray for you this week?

  1. As I continue the through the Bible in a year study with Shannon Mullins at http://www.ShannonMullins.com, I’m becoming more and more aware of the need to pray for Israel, especially in light of the current unrest. Thank you for leading us in prayer for our friend, Israel, today.

  2. ‘Tis and easy thing to “forget” to pray for. Indeed it’s not on the top of my list if I have to be painfully honest. Thank you for the reminder, and AMEN!

  3. Great reminder Susan that Israel is a beacon for all of us and it’s peace is so important. :) Plus I have a little boy I sponsor through World Vision who lives in Gaza. I always wonder if any of the violence is affecting him or his family.

  4. Susan, thank-you for the beautiful reminder to pray for God’s Holy City! The unrest of the Middle East has been brought to my attention a couple of times this week as I sip on my lattes…

  5. Susan,
Joining you in prayer today for the peace of Israel and our own nation, that we might continue to stand by her.

  6. Joining you in prayer for Israel and her people. And yes, for our own nation as well.

I’m praying for you today, too, my friend!!

    Love you much!

  7. I’m with Jeanette (in fact, I’m often “with Jeanette”)- this hasn’t been a focus of my prayers- just peace in the middle east in general. Thank you for this inspiration.

Do I see that you now have a Facebook fan page? Liked! What pushed you toward that decision?

    • Thanks for liking me!!! LOL yes, I did but I still feel weird about the whole “fan” thing. I’ll fill you in when we have lunch. LIVE and in PERSON! Can’t wait!!

  8. Happy Monday and hugs to you, Susan! I’m going to send ya an email…. ;)

  9. This is a terrific reminder as we watch more violence in the Middle East and the rise in threats directed at Israel. Thanks!

  10. Ditto to everyone who said this was a great reminder! Sometimes it is easy to neglect some of His requests from scripture. Thank you…this week I have to make a decision on how to help a young man that has been ostracized from his family :0(. I believe I have exhausted all our options but I want to be open to what He wants. In the past I have certainly “jumped the gun” in situations like this and I would really rather NOT this time. Thanks so much!

  11. Thank you for focusing our prayer on the nation of Israel today, Susan.

Praying for you! The Lord brought you to mind today in the middle of my aerobics DVD. His timing catches up by surprise at times but I trust it’s always right.

  12. Thank you gals for stopping by today! I just updated my prayer list for the week and you’re ALL on there. Praying you have productive weeks and that you have an extraordinary sense of His presence in your lives.

And thank you for praying for the peace of Jerusalem. It’s an amazing city and so dear to the heart of God. It’s dear to my heart as well and I can’t wait to be within those walls again!

    Have a blessed week!

  13. Praying with you for Jerusalem.

  14. Joining you, today, in praying for Jerusalem.

Thank you, Susan, for the reminder!

  15. so exciting to anticipate our new Jerusalem, cheers Graeme
