Heavenly Father, as we begin our week, we thank You for simple blessings.
Most of us woke up in warm beds in nice homes.
We took steamy showers, grabbed a quick bite,
then rushed off to begin our day.
That in itself is a blessing we never mean to take for granted.
Please make us sensitive to those who aren’t as fortunate,
and show us ways to meet their needs.
Let us serve as Jesus did: graciously, patiently and unselfishly.
We ask it in His Name, Amen.
Would you like for me to pray for you this week?
Leave a comment and I’ll add you to my prayer journal.
Please join me on Wednesday for
“How Can You Show You Care?”

Good Morning Susan,
Thank you for this good word this morning. We have a missionary friend coming for chai this morning who spoke at our church yesterday. So grateful for this humble servant of the Lord who has shown us just what it means to truly care for others…living in the midst of another culture showing by their lives how they care. May God bring me to this place and may the Lord bring revival to the nations.
Happy Monday, Glenda! I know you’ll be a great encouragement to your guest, and I’ll pray for your friend’s ministry too. I hope they enjoy their furlough.
Thank you for reminding us that we are very blessed and that we need to serve others.
Our blessings are ABUNDANT, aren’t they?
Susan, thank you for that prayerful reminder of such a simple blessing. Be blessed this week. I appreciate you and your ministry to others.
Ditto, Kay! Blessings to you as you start a new week!
Perfect reminder… and pray I can serve someone today! Have a great week, Susan!!!!
I’ll do that, Sandi — and I’ll pray for your knee too. Hope you’re managing better
Thank-you, Susan for such a beautiful prayer this morning. Last night I read of a woman from India who was taken as she was walking to school (age 7) and put in a brothel. As I read about her horrifying story, I was reminded about all of the comforts I daily enjoy (as you so eloquently stated in your prayer) and that as a follower of Christ… apathy is not acceptable. “Blessed are those who mourn…” came to life last night as I hurt inside for all the oppression. I wanted to scream, “LORD, WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT ALL THIS?!” Sometimes (well, actually most of the time) I feel so inept at being Christ’s Hands and Feet. I guess that’s where the “Poor in spirit…” part comes in, huh? Thankfully, God intervenes and gives me everything I need to carry out His plan and it’s my job to heed to that calling. Susan, if you’d like to read the story of this precious woman, you can do so here:

Blessings friend!
Marisa
Thanks for sending me the link, Marisa. Can’t wait to follow-up on that. Those stories break my heart, and all I can do is stand amazed that my life is SO easy in comparison. And most Americans take so much for granted, or worse – feel entitled to more than they have. It’s convicting and you’re right about the apathy. I love what Mother Teresa said,
“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
The same thing applies for helping people!
Great reminder this morning as God’s been reminding me of the importance of serving my family in this busy season of life! Hope you have a great day!
And you’re in a VERY busy season, Jeannette! Yes, family is our top priority
Thanks for stopping by today!
Another great reminder from your Monday Morning Pause series, Susan. Blessings to you!
Thanks, Cathy. Heading over for Sunday Snippets!!
Love my Mondays with you, Susan.
I’m starting a mentorship this week and would love prayer! May I see how to extend His hand and love to this teenage girl…show Him how relentlessly He pursues her…
I will absolutely pray for your new “mentee” and your new friendship. What a great blessing you’ll be to this young gal, Nikki
A warm bed, a hot shower and good food in my belly! Thank you Lord for blessing me by giving me birth in this wonderful country!
I had a small taste of less during my mission trip but I knew at the end I would be coming back to my “excess”. Thanks Susan for reminding me again how much I do have!
Thanks for stopping by, Mindy! Isn’t it amazing all the things we take for granted? I’ll be going to Belize next week to spend time with missionaries there, so I’ll get a taste of that myself. Excited to see if the Lord will open some doors there!
Thanks for the reminder….we are so blessed!
We ARE. Glad to see you here, Kim. Hope you had a great time away with your hubby, and I hope everything went well last Wednesday. When you get a sec, Inbox me and let me know.
Hey Susan,
Continue to pray for our Mayberry event. Things are shaping up well but we need a big boost in ticket sales. Thanks again for your help with the promo. I’m really enjoying the spiritual boost you give me each week. Thanks.
I sure will, Pam! I’m teaching this week but will stop by the table on my way to worship. Can’t wait to see the promo!
