Heavenly Father, we come before You this morning
grieving for a broken world.
So many of our friends are carrying heavy burdens,
personal illness, family dysfunction, financial uncertainty, etc.
We pass people in our cities and town who are destitute.
Homeless, jobless or addicted to things we can’t imagine.
Lord, there are so many people without hope.
Father, make us sensitive to the needs around us.
Break our hearts with the things that break Yours,
and use us share Your love with the world around us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen

My stepson Matt lost his job Friday because my car would not start in this cold weather. Please pray he can find a job quickly.
Absolutely, Brenda. Sorry to hear that.
For my friend who had a double mastectomy and found large amount of lymph tissue tested positive. Facing body scans, chemo and radiation. Praise God she is a believer, pray for spiritual growth in this physical devastation. Thank you!
Wow, Jeanette. Yes, praise God He is her strength, even in physical weakness!
Please pray for my husband. He’s been sick for over three months (a week in the hospital) with no diagnosis – so no treatment. We both physically and emotionally exhausted. It’s too easy to let fear and doubt consume me.
So frustrating, Pam. Praying the Lord either heals or gives the docs wisdom with a diagnosis and treatment, and praying for your strength to persevere.
What breaks my heart the most is loved ones who don’t yet know the Lord. Many in my family are in this state and it breaks my heart. I pray for them and live out my life of love in front of them. And …I trust God!
Blessings and love,
Debbie
You’re such a sweet picture of Christ’s love, Debbie. May they come to faith as a result of your witness!
Our sinful nature can not experience the joy that God has intended for us with out being broken.
When we are weak, then He is strong.
Amen, Anita
Susan, I love the prayer and the verse you used to go along with it. Pray for Nan and I. This Friday, we leave for the Writers Boot Camp conference. I’ll be leaving my house between 5: and 5:30 AM and meeting her by 11. Pray for a productive weekend and an encouraging one as well. Love you, sweet friend!
I’m so excited for you, Jamie! I’m praying you have a wonderful weekend that not only fills your head with good info, but fills your heart with joy. I know you could use it!
Good morning, Susan! I would love some prayers for my very good friend here in Phoenix, that has just done her first chemo treatment. She will be having chemo for 18 weeks and our biggest prayer is that she doesn’t have to have radiation also. Her name is Wendy. I have been her “shopper” making sure she has comfy clothes to ‘chemo’ in…..And of course an ongoing prayer for my nephew, Andrew, that is in Afghanistan. You are the best! ♥
I will definitely pray for Andrew and Wendy, Sandi. 18 weeks is a long time to do chemo. How lucky she is to have such a fun (and funny!) friend to hang out with!
Joining you in praying for these needs. Thank you for starting our week in prayer.
Bless you, Susan!
Thanks, Cathy! Praying for you and your women’s study. I hope it’s going well!
Susan pray for my friend (sue) daughter Alicia is in the hospice now.
She is 24 yrs old. She was attending college up until she got sick. I have known this child since pre school.
My heart breaks.
Oh wow, Anita. Alicia is only 24? She’s just a baby. I know you’re heartbroken, and I also know you’re a big encouragement to Sue. I’m lifting her up too. So sad.
Yes, Susan, there is so much heartache in this world. I’m joining you in prayer and my requests are there with Debbie, longing for loved ones to know the Lord.
You stay in my prayers!!! I love you!
I love you too, Kristi, and you know the things I continue to pray for you
Praying with you and for the needs posted here. Pray for me and all those that will be at Boot Camp this weekend. Love you!
Dee Dee! What a treat! Thanks for your prayers, and I’ll be sure to lift up everyone at Boot Camp this weekend. Should be GREAT! Hope to see you at BRMCWC and hug your sweet neck
Prayed along with you, Susan, as I read your loving and lovely prayer…So grateful for you and your prayers, sweet friend
Hugs to you, Dolly. I appreciate your prayers and friendship. You’re a sweetie!
A beautiful prayer, Susan. On my heart: a friend who desperately needs to seek help but is unwilling to do so; my husband’s stress in his current job. Thank you, friend!
You got it, Mandy. Hugs to you
Good morning, Susan! To say we’ve had a little bit going on in our lives lately is putting it mildly. I wasn’t able to visit here last week, but I’m constantly amazed. THIS verse was the verse that was on my heart all last week as we mourned the the loss of our dog and considered the potential loss of other things we hold dear in our lives right now. Sometimes, God doesn’t “feel” close when we are broken hearted. Sometimes he feels silent when we feel we need to hear from him most. Yet, this verse was constantly at the forefront of my mind last week as I reminded myself he is near and intimately involved. I hope you are having a marvelous week…enjoying the pictures on FB and praying for you!
Jeannette
Sweet words of truth. How often we forget He has promised to be near us when we feel brokenhearted. Thanks for the reminder and encouragement!
