A Monday Pause ~ Spirit

Acts 4-12a

Heavenly Father, as we begin a new week, we pause to
thank You for Your Son, Jesus.

We thank You for sending Him to earth.
We thank You for the example He gave us.
We thank You for the love you both have for us.
We thank You for the grace and mercy You show us through Him.
We thank You for the promise of eternal life in Him and
for the hope we have because of Him.
We thank You for Your indescribable Gift!

Father, we confess and believe these truths, but
we live in a world that denies Him.
That ridicules Him.
That disregards His sacrifice.
That profanes His holy Name.

We confess that we’ve grown numb to some of it, so
we ask that You fan the fame of faith within us.
Make us sensitive to those around us who need Him,
give us courage and boldness to step up and speak, then

fill our mouths with the message of the Gospel.

May we live in a way that honors Him and glorifies You.
We ask it in the Name above all Names,
Christ Jesus our Lord,
Amen.

How can I pray for you this week?

Comments

  1. Good Monday morning to you, Susan! Please pray peace and unity for a particular situation in my life right now. Also, please join me in praising Him for all the things He has done and continues to do in our lives. Thank you! (I’ll miss this series, by the way :)

    • Hi Cathy! I’ll be glad to pray for that situation, and for the others things crowding your plate. He IS doing great things, and I know He’s pleased with your faithfulness!

Thanks for taking time to comment :)

  2. What a beautiful prayer and I say AMEN! I love your heart of love for Jesus. I ask for God’s strength and wisdom to persevere despite obstacles. I pray that I would have a heart of hope as I trust Him in all things.

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie

    • Thanks for stopping by today, Debbie. I’ll definitely pray for strength to persevere. The heart of hope? I already see that in you :)

  3. “Make us sensitive to those around us who need Him”
THAT is a prayer I need to implement. Sometimes my days are so busy I simply go through them and do not ASK Him for opportunities to reflect His love. Other days I start my day off asking for them and few do…go figure :0). I know I need to have an attitude of availability rather than rush! Thanks for the reminder!

    • Right there with you, Donna. Rushing and distracted – it’s why I have to ask for constant reminders!

Glad you stopped by today, and glad to know I’m not alone!

  4. Susan,
You have really hit on something I need this week. I’m working hard to be more mindful of the needs of others and less worried about myself. I also struggle with speaking to people about the Gospel- it doesn’t come naturally to me. I need to remember that if I trust in the right thing, the words will come. Thanks.
Prayer request- getting back into the routine without becoming a stress ball! What needs to get done will; I need to trust and choose the correct part. (In the past, I’ve been a Martha- I’m trying to be more like Mary) :) I’m really glad you added categories and archives to your side bar- I’ve been missing that on your site. Good job!

    • I’ll definitely pray for you, Julia. Looks like y’all had a great trip to Disney, but as stressful as it is to get out of town, it’s doubly stressful to come back home!

Glad you found the archives and categories. Interesting – they’ve been there all along, I just moved them up :)

  5. Love my Mondays in prayer with you, friend.
and the numbness…I’m with you. aching to feel. thank you…

  6. Susan,
Heart and Spirit are what I am focusing on right now in preparation for a one day ladies retreat. I would appreciate prayers for clarity and focus.
    Thanks so much, Susan!

    • How exciting, Glenda! I’ll definitely pray for your event, and also for the ladies who’ll attend. I know God has something wonderful planned!

  7. Beautiful, Susan. Thank you for putting the truth of our weakness and failure into words. Thank you for always pointing us to Jesus.

  8. What a beautiful prayer. Thanks for keeping me in your prayer book. I would love extra prayers lifted as our Bible studies begin tomorrow. I’m praying for you too!! Love you!

    • You’ve got it, Kristi! So excited for you to start tomorrow, but even more excited for the study to follow ;) Love you!

  9. Great prayer…thank you for being a willing servant to others.

Please pray for all the children in this nation, in this state, and in our own families. Pray for God to keep his hand on each of them and set their minds on things above. Pray for them to be given power from on high to live in this world of daily disappointment. Pray that examples of faith will be lifted as their role models. Pray for gardian angels to watch over each one every day of their lives.

Thank you for our children Lord…thank you for our love for them and our hope in YOU!
