A Monday Pause ~ Family

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity

Heavenly Father, we start this week with full hearts,
thankful for our families.
You know they’re far from perfect, Lord, but
they’re the people you’ve given us to share our lives with.
Help us to love the not-always-lovable, and have
healthy, gracious relationships with each other.

You’ve also blessed us with friends who become like family.
We share strong connections with people who
“feel like home.”
I’m thinking of several right now, Father, and
I’m overwhelmed that you’d give me friends who love me
like a sister or a daughter.

Bless those ties, Lord, and may those friendships be a
shining example of Christ’s love to the world.
We ask it in His name, Amen

It’s my privilege to pray for each commenter.
You are special to our Lord AND to me!

Pray for Chris, my daughter, that God will so convict her of her need for Him.
We are celebrating her birthday tonight (she turned 25 on Feb. 21).

    • Joining you in prayer for Chris, Diane. The prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective, so let’s ask and believe the Holy Spirit will move in her heart!

The ladies from our church (Churchill Meadows Christian Church) are leaving for a retreat this weekend. Please pray God’s direction and protection. Will join you guys in prayer for all prayer requests.

  3. I join you in praising the Lord this morning for friends who are more like family. As an “only”, I especially enjoy and appreciate my sisters in Christ…like you. :)

  5. Susan,
Like you, so grateful for friends who love me through all the ups and downs of life. First of all, a praise for wellness. Still on antibiotics, but feeling better and able to function. After several weeks of not feeling well, I am trying to get back on track with the retreat event coming up March 16th. I have lots of material, but I need to edit and tweak…Please pray for Holy Spirit to give wisdom, focus, and resolve to complete the work. Thanks so much. You’re in my toughts and prayers too. Have a blessed day!

    • Your event is on my calendar, Glenda. I’m so glad you’re feeling better, and I pray you’re getting good rest. I’ll pray for the Lord to clarify your message. I know He has a treat in store that weekend!

  11. Anita Taylor says:

I love you and all my friends. We need each other!

  12. I read this yesterday but was running late for work so I returned. Thank you Susan for offering to pray for us. I need prayer. I so want to be a light for Jesus in the midst of a school that doesn’t talk about Him. I love the little children I encounter each day and silently pray for them. I also need prayer for perseverance in writing my book. I have to work on this early in the mornings and on the weekends.

    Thank you so much!

    Debbie

  13. Dearest Susan, I love your prayer for family and friends. My sister had a dinner party for my mom’s 92nd birthday last Friday at her home in Apple Tree Village…. I was able to go even I did not feel well earlier in the day. It was a small group since my children were not able to come in. My sister, Kathy, has one child Joel who is married to Adrian and they have 2 boys: Patrick (4yrs) and Liam (5 mos). Joel’s family was there and we had such a good time. I got to hold Liam quite a bit and kiss on him. I had fun I interacting with Patrick. Please pray for the spiritual well being of each person in my family.

Tomorrow, I have 3:00pm apt. For my 2nd post op visit….please pray. I going to ask if I can have PT in a warm water swimming pool.

How can I pray for you? I know you have a lot of writing projects you want to work on. Love, Judy

    • So glad you had a good weekend with your family, Judy, and I’m glad to see you’re up and around! Hopefully we can meet for coffee soon.

As for me? Another crazy head cold, so I’d appreciate prayers for that. And I always need prayers for focus and discipline with my time. Thank you!

  14. Oh I need this before we visit the in-laws. Good one. Thank you.
