Heavenly Father, we start this week with an overwhelming
sense of thankfulness.
You’ve blessed us with so much.
Besides food and shelter, You provide us with
opportunities that most people in the world can’t imagine.
Lord, help us to remember that we’re stewards of Your blessings.
If we’re not careful, we will collect them like treasures,
more focused on accumulating them than on sharing them.
Open our eyes to the needs around us.
We’re glad You don’t expect us to meet every one of them,
but we often grow discouraged because the needs are so great.
Show us what to do THIS DAY.
Whether the need is physical, emotional, spiritual or relational
help us to meet that need with the love of Jesus.
We ask it in His name, Amen.
It’s my honor to pray for my Monday commenters throughout the week. I’ll be checking in on some of you privately in the coming weeks.

Wonderful prayer, Susan. Can’t wait to hear about all your adventures. Thanks for your faithfulness!
Thanks, Gina. Hope we can get together soon!
Here is the phrase that stuck out to me this morning:
“Lord, help us to remember that we’re stewards of Your blessings.
If we’re not careful, we will collect them like treasures,
more focused on accumulating them than on sharing them.”
Beautiful prayer. Glad you are home and praying for a chance to return with you…or whatever God has in store!
I’m excited about all the possibilities, Sandi. WHO KNOWS where He might take us?
Reminds me of a photo that is going on your FB wall in …3….2….1
Susan, you spoke my heart above, especially this: “we often grow discouraged because the needs are so great.” That has felt overwhelming to me at times. But your wonderful prayer ending nailed it: “Show us what to do THIS DAY. Whether the need is physical, emotional, spiritual or relational help us to meet that need with the love of Jesus.”
Yes, “We ask it in His name, Amen.”
Thanks, Anna. Isn’t it easy to just want to throw up your hands and walk away? But just to do one thing… I can do that!
I love what you’ve done with this image!
Thanks, Katie. That was quite a day!
Beautiful prayer!
As frustrating as it is to see what ALL there is that needs to be done, there is nothing like a mission trip to awaken one to the blessings we experience back home. I’m glad you went, I’m glad you’re back, and I’m glad you know what you know. I love you Susan Hope!
Granny B would be so proud of your writing.
I love you too, Aunt Cherry. And I miss Granny. She was proud of ALL her grandkids
Welcome home, Susan — and thank You for this heartfelt prayer to begin our week. I look forward to hearing about your most recent God-venture! Blessings to you, my friend.
Thanks, Cathy! We’re so grateful for all the prayers while we were there. SO MUCH to process!
Thank-you once again, Susan for the beautiful, heartfelt prayer on this Monday morning. Pausing at “your place” the beginning of each week is just the jump start I need to prepare myself for the week ahead. Thank you for keeping our family in your prayer journal! Btw… As I read your comment “makes me want to shut down everything and go into hiding” all I could think was NO, NO, NO!! There is very little more glorifying to God than building relationships… And that’s exactly what you do the very best
I’ve not met you face to face, but I consider you one of my dearest friends! If you go hide, I will be the first to go find you… That’s a promise you can bank on!! Love you, my friend!
You’re such a doll, Marisa, and such a great encourager! Can’t wait to meet you in RL someday soon! And I’m glad you’d come after me. I’ll fix us a big green smoothie and we’ll go for a walk and clear the cobwebs
Love you too!
Beautiful prayer, my friend! I’m praying for you today!! Love you!
Thanks, Kristi. Today’s a busy one at my house!
Big hugs to you, and don’t forget — we need to make plans for BRMCWC soon!
oh Susan, I was the first one to get up this morning & I had a quiet time, this quote that stuck on my mind… “nothing is yours unless you share it” so profound. Love ya my friend!!
Love you too, Anita. Enjoy the last day with my folks. Thanks for being such a gracious hostess!!
Amen indeed…
welcome home, Susan!
thank you for exercising your faith for the least of these. I can’t wait to hear more about it. To God be the glory!
Lots of stories, Nikki! What a blessing to go on this trip and watch God “wreck” our entire group!
Thank you, Susan. The part that stuck out for me were the words “Show us what to do THIS DAY.” It’s so easy to get overwhelmed and stuck when we think of all there is to do- in our own lives and the world in general. I love these thoughtful starts to my week.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels helpless and overwhelmed, Julia! As I wrote this prayer, I was thinking about the old saying, How do you eat an elephant?
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. Praying for you and your fam this week. Hope we can get together soon!
Looking forward to reading the true stories you just experienced! I am thankful for who God is and how we are getting to experience Him. ~ Love out from Maine, Amy
Oh Amy, one of the most amazing thing was to see Him at work everywhere we looked! And to see Him in so many faces. It makes you appreciate the things that really matter in life.
So glad to see you here this afternoon. Thank you!
I’m so glad your home. I would be one of those friends who would love sit and watch hours of pictures and hear about your adventure.
I’m glad I’m home too, Di, and I wish we lived closer! I hope the Lord lets us take a mission trip together sometime. I need to connect you and Alene, and let y’all go out and shoot the trip. You two would have the BEST shots!
Thank you Susan for the picture and the reminder that whatever we do, we do it for Him.
Hugs,
Thanks, Glenda. Even a cup of water in His name!
Oh girl — I can always use some prayers!! I do feel so blessed. Just the fact that we were born in this country is amazing! I’m still wrecked and I’m supposing that is good. I do miss you!
You got it, Alene! I hear ya – I’m still reeling. Just whipped out a couple of posts, then I’m going to have to let it simmer for a while. SO MUCH to process, but yes – we are blessed beyond measure. I think it takes a good wrecking every now and then to keep us balanced.
I miss you too, but I’m praying about our next adventure. Can’t wait!
