Off to Guatemala!

We’re off to Guatemala!

I’m excited to reconnect with some of my friends and see what God will do with us. I’m going with some of the same gals from our Feb 2013 trip: Alene Snodgrass, Emily Gallimore, Dawn Muench, Sara McDaniel, Carolina Sizemore, and Laura Harris. I’m excited to get to meet my San-Fran friend Dolly Lee for the first time in real life!

And then there’s the charming Anita Taylor, with whom I seem to be working my way around the world. So far we’ve traveled to Israel and Belize. She grew up in the Philippines and is after me to go there. Stay tuned for more Anita-Adventures ;)

Prayer visit in Guatemala City

Prayer visit in Guatemala City

Would you please pray for our trip? It’s always good to pray for our travel and our safety, but would you also pray that we would be obedient to all God calls us to do and that He would bring a blessing through us?

One of our stops will be the Potter’s House. Those gracious folks minister to the people who live in the neighborhoods surrounding the Guatemala City dump. Referred to as “scavengers” and ostracized by the people in the city, Potter’s House helps these “treasures” get an education and find jobs (and life) outside of the dump. We sponsor a little girl there, so I’m excited to see Merely!

I’ll be MIA for a while, but if you’d like to keep up with our adventures and see some pictures, be sure to “Like” my Facebook fan page. You’ll find that over there in my sidebar, just scroll down a little way.

We’re also hashtagging #serveguate on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

For comments this week, would you leave a prayer I can share with the group?

  1. May the Lord bless your trip as you serve in His Name. May His Spirit lead and equip as you encounter those needing His love and hope. ;) much love, Hester

  2. Praising God with you for His provision for this opportunity! Praying specifically that you’ll hear His voice and that your eyes will be open to every door He has prepared for you. God bless you, sweet friend!
